Our studio currently offers guitar and drum classes both offline and online. You can learn the basis of guitar or drum through our classes. By the end of courses, you will be able to play at least one song by guitar or drums.

Course Overview

Guitar Class

Duration: 16 courses, 1hour/class

This course is a guitar class and is designed to encourage the development of good musical and technical foundations. It covers many elements that beginners will be working on at this early stage, including pitch, time, tone, performance and musical perception. The focus of this class to provide your child with an enjoyable experience in guitar learning and opportunity to learn and develop a variety of music-related skills. Students will be led through an intensive 8-week course to introduce them to the guitar. This course is a study of theories, methods and the best practices for guitar training. It will prepare your child to know guitar techniques, be able to play guitar and perform a song on stage. With teacher’s guidance, your child will lean more about notes, guitar vocabularies and music-related knowledge. Students will also learn basic maintenance of the instrument and how to change strings, clean the guitar’s surface, clean strings, and maintain tuning.

Assessment: Students will be able to take Trinity's Rock & Pop Guitar exams Initial/ Grade 1.

Curriculum:

• Learn how to hold a guitar

• Identify and play notes

• Learn guitar vocabularies

• Tune the guitar

• Learn different chords

• Develop a sense of beat

Class Objectives:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• recognize and identify fundamental aspects of beginning guitar;

• develop the finger dexterity and strumming abilities in order to begin making music;

• learn basic improvisation;

• know the basic tenets of songwriting and some possible approaches for doing so;

• recognize the importance of steady practice routines, guitar maintenance and regular tuning.

Drum Class

Duration: 16 courses, 1hour/class

This course is a practical class for beginners in drums. It aims to teach students the foundation in drum set performance and gain musicianship. There are five main aspects of drums will be learned in this class, hand-to-hand technique, snare drum reading, drum set coordination and repertoire development. This course will start from teaching the basics, such as the concept of time, how to develop proper grip and sound, and how to achieve balance and evenness between hands. At the end of the class, students need to play one song on the drum set.

Assessment: Students will be able to take Trinity’s Rock & Pop Drums exams Initial/ Grade 1.

Curriculum:

• Play drum rudiments

• Practice common groove patterns

• Play patterns in various time signatures

Class Objectives:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• understand basic time

• develop proper grip, playing area, and sound

• improve the balance and evenness between your hands

• develop basic snare drum reading skills

• interpret drum set charts

• play at least one song from memory on the drum set

• tune drums
